What is the strangest job that you’ve ever had?
The strangest job I have had was when I was in high school.  After school I would walk to a beauty salon (what they were called back then) in downtown Brunswick and my job was to comb out wigs and serve coffee to the customers.

If you could switch jobs with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

If I could switch jobs with anyone in the world I would switch with my oldest daughter.  She is an orthopedic surgeon in Salt Lake City and I would love to experience her job and lifestyle.  But I would only want this job for a short period of time because of how stressful and demanding her profession is.

What do you like to do?
During my free time I love to be outdoors. Whether this is in my gardens, at the beach, or taking a walk in the woods. I also love to read and visit with my grandson who will be 4 years old shortly. He just tried to send me a video chat from his mother’s phone and she knew nothing about it!

What does a typical day at MAMS look like for you?

A typical day at MAMS for me looks like this.  I arrive about 7:15 to open up the Learning Commons, answer technology questions which come up first thing in the morning, and collect books which have been returned.  I then spend the rest of the day collecting books for students and staff that have been requested and delivering them at the end of the day.  The Learning Commons is now having students browse the library shelves and I assist with that.  There are also technology issues that come up during the day which  the Learning Commons team resolves. I repair and process new books and help maintain the collection. I am also a proctor for the 7th grade Quiet Room during lunch.

What do you love about middle school?
One of the things I love about middle school is the humor and character of middle schoolers.  They can be so funny, unpredictable, emotional and thoughtful. I also love the camaraderie of the staff and how we respect and support each other throughout the day.
